Winter Maintenance Checklist for Your Vehicle

While it's always important to make sure your vehicle is fully serviced, it's even more important during the winter months. During the winter, road users deal with wet, cold and icy conditions which can significantly impact safety on the road. Make sure your vehicle is as safe as possible with this maintenance checklist for winter!

Top Up Your Wiper Fluid

During the winter, road users have to deal with snow, rain, hail and more! This can have a huge impact on visibility when driving. Make sure you can see as best as possible by having your wiper fluid always topped up. This will help keep your windshield free of salt, mud, snow, ice and more!

Replace Your Vehicle's Wiper Blades

Did you know that wiper blades are only good for up to a year? It's true! This is why it's so important to make sure they are replaced before the cold weather hits. There are heavy duty wiper blades designed specifically for winter which keeps you and your visibility as safe as possible.

Check Your Tires

Before you set out on the road, make sure your tires have the correct amount of pressure and are suitable for road use. If your tires are worn to an unsafe level, it's time to replace your tires. While this can seem expensive at the time, it's much less expensive than the damage you'll incur if you continue to drive on worn tires. Make sure your tread depth is at least 5/32" for winter conditions.

Change Your Oil

It's always important to make sure your oil is changed regularly, but even more so during the winter. Your engine needs proper lubrication to run smoothly, but cold weather can thicken the oil in your car reducing its ability to move throughout the engine. This is why it's important to have new and fresh oil to keep your car running as it should.

Don't get caught out this winter with an unserviced vehicle. This checklist is a great start in making sure your car is prepared for winter, but it's always worth speaking with an expert on everything your car requires.
